There’s far too many circuses here, and the bread while becoming progressively more expensive still hasn’t run out. A good half of the electorate doesn’t pay attention at all becuase they’ve just accepted all politicians are going to screw them over and will side with the wealthy and businesses. Those folks flat out refuse to believe anything could ever really change in a significant way, they are the “I just wanna grill for gods sake” people
Of those who are paying attention about 3/4 of them get all their info from mainstream news outlets. About half of them hate Trump and everything happening right now, but all of them even the Trump supporters that constantly talk about figting an oppressive government are still very much in the “we just want to live our lives” way of thinking.
The remaining 1/8 of Americans who are aware of what’s happening can be split into the true maga believers and then those of us who know the point the poster you’re responding to made is very frighteningly correct.
And everyone I just mentioned, except for maybe the ardent fascists are fucking exhausted and atomized to the point of isolation by both this reality and the way the American work experience has been designed. Which drives a wedge between everyone not in one’s immediate family unit.
Unless either food rapidly becomes unobtainable or football season is canceled before November I don’t see an uprising happening.
