I like the simplicity if the bamboo software but realy would love a foss firmware for the printer. Ik this isn’t strictly Linux related but figured this was the best fit for the discussion. I would get a prusa printer but the cost for multi material just doesn’t make economical sense. Is their some 3rd party controller board that integrates well? I run QubesOS with a designated sys-print qube to keep such activities isolated. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I’m a mechanical engineering student and would like to take advantage of my knowledge to engineer myself into a physical advantaged.


No open open firmwares that I know of. I’m not 100% sure but I think other companies have caught up to bambu’s ease of use. I’m planning on going with another company for my next machine. I’m waiting for multi color to get really good.
Where would u recommend I follow to keep up to date?
