Senate Democratic candidates are edging out or polling neck and neck with their GOP counterparts in five competitive Senate races this cycle — the latest indicator that Republicans are facing a tough midterm environment in even more traditionally redder areas, according to new surveys of the races.
Polling released by The New York Times and Siena University on Saturday found Democrats leading by 6 points in the Texas Senate race, 7 points in Alaska, 3 points in Ohio, down 1 point in Iowa and tied in Kansas.
Because the surveys in Ohio, Iowa and Kansas are within the margin of error — 4.5 points in Ohio, 4.6 points in Iowa and 4.6 points in Kansas — those races are essentially tied.
Get ready to be downright disappointed or possibly distressed at the actual outcome of the midterms. Gerrymandering, racial redistricting, disinformation campaigns, propaganda networks, lawsuits for mail voting, racist state legislatures, and on and on. These are what Democrats are up against and no amount of positive polling is going to fix that shit. When you show up to vote and can’t because you’ve been purged from voter registration remember the polls lol.
Oh they’re going to flat-out cheat in broad daylight. There’s no doubt about it. And don’t forget about the armed intimidation campaign that places fascist goons at every polling station.
They’ll kill a small handful nationwide- enough to make people afraid to show up. And that’ll be that.
And when it happens, they’ll do literally nothing. Watch.

You need to factor in propaganda on this one, billions are spent yearly on both small scale operations and large scale projects to push rightwing propaganda to the masses with some having been inundated within it for decades at this point. Frankly there’s no real clean way of dealing with this short of pushing for policies that’d make them effectively illegal, mind you this would be rather easy right now because the steps you’d have to take would also catch monopolies so that’s a win win.
Personally I’d start with radio since it’s a periphery medium at this point so less care could be drummed up. Revoke the business licenses of iHeartRadio due to them being a fucking monopoly and you’d probably nock out half the issues if not more in one go from there it’d just be a matter of strategic deregulation and reregulation to encourage independent/pirate stations to clutter the airwaves and push out anyone who’s not them. Hobbiests would kill to just blare whatever they want and if it drowns out the local Rush Limbaugh wannabe that’s just a bonus. Basically make it so as long as they don’t take advertisement they can do whatever, donations are acceptable but they have to be small scale ones and will be checked for sources, if it has to be done create an office who’s job it is to organize payment for these stations basically creating a middleman filter so the stations aren’t financing directly.
Wealth inequality is the root cause. Fix our oligarch problem and the rest becomes plausible.

Currently he’s doing a Hillary victory lap where he’s doing rallies in places he’s projected to win and ignoring everything close because his handlers know he’ll hurt Republicans.
Another week or so and those poll numbers will be worse. Trump will believe he can save them, and when it hurts Republicans in those elections, trump will blame the people who tried to keep him out of it He’ll never understand if he had campaigned in those races earlier they have lost by more.
I remember how good optimism felt. I miss it.
It’s not optimism, it’s what’s logically going to happen. They’re distracting him now by telling he’s “needed” in the safe states. But we’re a month out and these articles and polls will get worse. trump isnt capable of understanding people don’t love him, they’ll never be able to keep him away from Senate races that are polling close.
