Why the hell is there a deadline? Just for malicious antidemocratic parties to exploit?
The whole existence of said deadline was an exercise in antidemocratic bastardry on the part of the GOP state government orchestrated by McConnell himself to frustrate the Democrat governor’s ability to appoint his replacement.
