This is what the “Luddite” attitude to technology actually is. It’s also important to remember that “recommendation” models are also a problem, it’s not just the slop generators that need to go.

    Fair for you to make that argument, but now that’s a different argument than what this video is about. In the first 2 minutes he explicitly says the video “is about the modern internet”

      Yes but his video is specifically about how modern Internet users have become passive consumers of media and have lost their ability to do their own searching.

      Passive consumers of media is what we had for over 100 years until the Internet. Newspaper, radio, and TV were all passive. By the 1970’s they were algorithmically programmed with computers to keep consumers passively engaged.

      Lazy consumers of media is the default state and we have returned to it.

      It’s a great video. I love all his content. But it has fuck all to do with LLM’S. YouTube was algorithming content long before LLM’S.
