Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.) is facing accusations he tried to launch a conspiracy tying former special counsel Jack Smith to others who prosecuted President Trump — a line of questioning that unwound when the senator apparently confused two basketball teams.

    His lackluster, average American reading level response:

    “We had information, of course, about him being at a basketball game,” the Missouri Republican told Nexstar affiliate KTVI St. Louis later Tuesday. “The only NBA game going on that night was in Atlanta on Feb. 2 of 2024. His team had talked about that. He answered the question.”

    “My job is to ask the questions, and his job is to answer the questions,” he added.

        I know it’s not just me? I mean if it was my job to ask questions of possibly The Top Prosecutor in the country, I sure would want to make sure to ask the right questions. Schmitt made himself a laughing stock. smh
