      I have often wondered if that would work. I suspect cabinet members would gain more power until some insane person gets selected to be president and nukes everyone

        That would be the “factions” the founding fathers were talking about. Someone from some house/cabal butts heads with someone from another house/cabal, and all out war breaks out.

        A version of Democrat and Republican will always exist. They’d hoped that an election would allow the public to select logical faction couplings.
