It’s doesn’t need to vaporize the entire tank to cause and explosion, just some of it. Hell even just spraying into fine enough mist will do it.

Flour suspended by air blown through a candles flame is explosive.

Collisions are highly dynamic. I wouldn’t be surprised if this configuration would explode, I also wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t on occasion.

Either way this is a TERRIBLE idea as even IF this didn’t explode it will coat the passenger in gasoline.

Metal on metal sparks is one way, another is through friction, shear, and electical sparks are all ignition sources in a situation like this.

Gasoline is HIGHLY flammable, it’s not like desiels. People routinely blow themselves putting gasoline on bonfires
