Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), who is currently running for governor of Alabama, went on a 20-minute, lie-filled rant on the Senate floor accusing trans people of being violent and “deranged” and proposing that the United States bring back mental institutions to house them.
Tuberville claimed there is a “rise in violence coming from people who the left refers to as transgender.”
Where do these idiots get this shit? Is there just a room of guys at the Heritage Foundation sitting around seeing who can make people believe the dumbest thing?
Nothing they do isn’t intentional.
‘Furries’ are a bit weird, so its an easy target. There’s apparently a disproportionate amount of pilot furries. Pilots affect a lot of people. Since furries are weird, they are an outgroup. The outgroup they are targeting is transgender. Saying the transgender group is both weird and threatening gets people’s attention weather or not its true.
They don’t intend to make anyone believe anything, other than the transgender outgroup is bad.
They focus on “othering” so anyone that isn’t “normal” is their target. Furries and transgender people (not to be confused with each other) are relatively rare and “weird” to a lot of people so they are particularly easy targets.
