I thi that any claims about LLM’s capabilities de serve heavy skepticism.
Because of the amount of misinformation and outright propaganda that is being pumped out.
This does not mean the algorithms are incapable of anything - just that you can’t trust anything without cross-checking.
The thing is we are sitting in the no mans land of an information warfare zone. People have been killed for less money than what is at stakes for the “AI” companies.

The same thing is starting to happen at my company: the engineers ask AI to do their jobs, and simply forward requests from other engineers who also ask AI to do the job. It’s utterly absurd to watch.

What actually makes it soul sucking is if you still have a sense of duty or responsibility to deliver high quality code, because you will be knee deep in slop code without enough time to review it, or if you’re forced to review it. If you stop giving a shit, you can use that time to find another job or do research for your own project.
To be fair, that’s about every job. If I’m not either having fun or doing something useful I check out and hate my life.
I hate my life by default, at least working can sometimes be a productive distraction.

Why the fuck you working 12 hour days?
Some people will do it for fear of losing their job.
As though it’s easy to just find other people willing to work twelve hour days.
If you’re filling that extremely hard to find role for them, you’re the problem. You’re hurting yourself, and you’re hurting the rest of us.
In a high skill job if you’re putting in a really solid 4-5 hours and spending the other 3-4 hours doing easy/coasting work, you’ve officially worked a full day and should stop both for yourself and the rest of humanity.
Don’t volunteer yourself to be a slave to your job. Many many places will pressure you into doing the work of 1.5-3 people in the name of efficiency, sometimes without even realizing that’s what they’re doing.
Don’t enable them.
If they don’t have enough people for the work, that’s their problem and not yours. You should report it as such.
