People should also be less surprised that the handsome, well spoken, popular, Mamdani was able to flatter an egocentric, maniac, surrounded by sycophants, like Trump into being his biggest supporter. Forget playing him like fiddle, Trump is the dollar store recorder they forced on us elementary school.
I don’t think it was even intended, he was just applying standard diplomacy. Mamdani clearly has natural charisma. Trump’s even more of a sucker for that than most.

Fully agree. Plenty of examples of him masterfully diffusing confrontation on live TV. Like he honestly blows me away with how well he answers things.
