Some images simply overly fake furniture over real locations, and I imagine this is simply an AI extension of what they did with Photoshop. Both should be considered fraud, imo, but photos with furniture likely to sell/rent better than real empty photos.
I miss when we just had staged photos, though I feel like that died during COVID when open houses stopped being a sort of mandatory part of the process.
My sister just did like 3 months of house searching and it was not possible for her to find one without AI photos. Most had full on “reimagine” features.
Worst part is that the scaling is all wrong. AI is usually going for relatively minimalist interior design with a lot of space. In a cramped bathroom that doesn’t work. It clashes with the entire design philosophy because there’s simply no space. What does AI do? It scales down the toilet, sink and shower to create space. If you pay attention to it or maybe have a regular picture in-between the AI ones you see that it’d have to be a tiny toilet and sink but since everything is scaled down it’s not always immediately noticeable.
The point being that even if you redo the room with the finest materials and finest craftsman it can never look like that.
