With no real incentive to educate out side of a desire to just be educated I could see a strong dystopian future where those generations have less and less skills to critically judge information …

the twist is: it doesn’t matter if large parts of the population aren’t able to make meaningful decisions, if you don’t allow them to make decisions in the first place … that’s the plan here, dismantle democracy and give all control to the hands of a few.
