I understand the point, but this is also some nonsense. Some compact SUVs are smaller than sedans. Just because the letters SUV are in the name, doesnt mean its heavier or larger than a normal car. Do it by weight and size, not an arbitrary sales gimmicks and titles.
So the the language of Mamdani’s recent Vision Zero document describes the targetted vehicles as “larger passenger vehicles.” This video wasn’t released by his office and the producer of the video may have used the word “SUV” to characterize these vehicles to make the video more click-baity.
Light trucks, by definition, utilize a solid steel frame underneath.
The USA does not have any domestic manufacturing for anything but “monster truck” light trucks.
