    When people on linear forums (or worse, threadforums) complain about “necroing a thread”, I’m like what? Do you not like activity on the site? Is your tofu too juicy and your pasta too buttery??

        Since you asked, depends what the thread and the reply was, as well as the situations of the people involved. If you’re trying to relitigate something the rest of the group already considered a settled topic and is fed up of, or if you’re shit-talking someone who is no longer around, or if you’re expecting another participant to suddenly jump back in to defend something they said two years ago, then all of those things can be obnoxious.

        It doesn’t apply to cross-posts like this one though, because I don’t think it even counts as necroposting, and I didn’t see anyone complain about OP to begin with.
