It’s not quite equivalent. While I 100% agree it’s pretty fucked to do this with AI, and obviously it has to get the source material somewhere. The law is the law and you being upset, triggered, or have some traumatic relapse means absolutely dick. If someone draws kiddie porn, it’s perfectly legal (although fucking disgusting) but still legal, even if they used a kid they saw while shooing for groceries. AI is being treated the same way, it’s generating (drawing) based on what it’s learned, the same way a pedo creeper would.
So to approach AI generated pedo porn being illegal you’d need to approach drawing it is illegal, in which case it would be nearly impossible. Since (someone) drew it they could always argue that they just look young and there’s no real way to prove it unless they outright admit it, which isn’t happening.
Like I said, the shit is fucked up, but LEGALLY it’s legal and a grey area at best no matter how anyone feels about it.
