Look, technically she is right. She still has a boss, she still has to turn up somewhere at a certain time and do a certain thing in order to get paid. But lets not pretend that she still NEEDS to be a “working person”.
Once you have enough money for working for the rest of your life to be optional (even if you had to take a significant reduction in lifestyle) you are now a different class of “worker” and that is a HUGE difference in stress and demand on your life.
Agreed. She has no frame of reference for what the overwhelming majority of the population calls work.
Celebrities are out of touch. No matter if they were nepo babies or genuinely started off like the rest of us. After a few years in that world, they are convinced that the work they do merits millions of dollars. There is no way for that money to not warp the brain.
Spend most of your waking hours acting as a different person for insane amounts of money and the adoration of millions of people you’ve never met. -Yeah, I’m sure that never causes problems.
Ah yes, because we all know someone worth at least 30 million is a “working person.”
She’s forgotten her roots. Back in the 90s she had to hold down all kinds of jobs to get by like psychic, showgirl-nun, and dinosaur cop.
Don’t forget futuristic space bartender.
Her work with the St. Katherines Sisters Choir was very impressive. Doing God’s work.
Technically she does still work, although she certainly doesn’t need to survive. Her needs are well and truly met a million times over.

Her and Oprah man. I liked it when we were ignorant and just thought they were neat people.
Have you ever seen the Oprah and Ellen talking about cosplaying as poor people by going to the bank?
That was truly nauseating to watch.
